About

I’m Markus Baumann, a researcher at LMU Munich / QAR-Lab working on Quantum Reservoir Computing, Quantum Machine Learning, and time-series forecasting. I keep research outputs reproducible and inspectable through public code, experiment manifests, cached artifacts, figures, and paper material where possible.
I use this site as the canonical public hub for my research identity: Markus Baumann on GitHub, Google Scholar, LMU profile, QAR-Lab context, and public project notes. The public GitHub profile is the ground truth for current project orientation.
My work focuses on making quantum learning experiments easier to inspect, reproduce, compare, and extend.
If you are working on quantum learning, reproducible research practices, or scientific tooling, I am interested in connecting.
Current Research Focus
- Quantum Reservoir Computing with strict classical, feature-budget, and shot-budget controls
- Quantum Machine Learning benchmarks where claims, baselines, and evidence stay auditable
- Time-series forecasting from quantum measurement records and controlled reservoir features
- Research reproducibility: scripts, manifests, cached artifacts, and publication figures
- Quantum generative modeling, parametrized Hamiltonians, and optimization workflows
Open Research
Public research repositories are kept narrow, reproducible, and evidence-bounded.
- QRC Operating Band: reproducibility package for “Where a Quantum Reservoir Works: A Transferable Operating Band”.
- VQML Symmetry Artifact: public reproducibility package for symmetry-focused quantum-computing experiments.
- IQP Generative Modeling: frozen artifacts and figure pipelines for parity-structured quantum generative modeling.
- Hamiltonian Implicit Differentiation: implicit-differentiation experiments for bilevel Max-Cut optimization.
- Statistically Learnable QRC: archival research project on statistically learnable Quantum Reservoir Computing.
